Ownership Evidence
A bindery slip on the front pastedown, next to the dedication leaf, reads "May 21 '54 Harper/1000" and "Nov 23 '54 U. of M. Bindery." The exact meaning of "1000" — a price, an accession number, or something else — is not confirmed and is not presented here as a dollar figure. A Regents of the University of Minnesota library bookplate is present on the front pastedown, recording the shelfmark 493.117 P384. No prior-owner inscriptions, bookplates, or other ownership marks were found elsewhere in the volume.
